Ward attend the annual Forever Manchester Business Lunch

Last week Charlotte Rogers, Regional Director, and Craig Cousins, Senior Regional Manager, attended Forever Manchester Business Lunch.

Forever Manchester host the event each year, bringing together over 100 of their business supporters.

Ward is so proud to support such a fantastic charity that truly makes a difference for so many across the Greater Manchester area. Below are some of the recent community projects that the funding has supported:

Bright Futures Friends, based in Wythenshawe, support children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to develop their resilience and life skills whilst providing a safe and non-judgmental space for the children to interact with peers and develop social skills. They applied for funding to run bi-weekly specialist play support sessions for the children, aiming to build the children’s confidence and self-esteem whilst building their resilience – which can often be difficult for children with SEND.

Stockport Pride fosters a safe and inclusive environment for LGBTQ+ individuals, community groups, organisations and allies to come together, increase visibility and promote equality. The 2023 free event will include a parade through Stockport Town Centre, a stage with local LGBTQ+ talent & stalls hosted by local charities and community groups. The group requested funding to hire a sound engineer, print programmes and purchase “silent disco” headphones and metal barriers for the event.

Inspire aims to empower the people of Bolton, particularly those from the BAME community, to live healthier lifestyles by providing support and specialist workshops. They provide new ventures such as sports classes and hill walks to the youth of Great Lever and provide opportunities for young people that they would otherwise not be able to access. Inspire applied for funding to allow their groups members to go to horse riding sessions. This funding will cover transport costs for the group members as the site is not near any train or bus routes and pay partially towards the cost of the sessions.

Better Things Football Club is an open age disability football club, offering opportunities to engage in the sport of football both recreationally and competitively in the Wythenshawe area. The group wishes to raise awareness of why equality in sport is so important and why enjoying and having the opportunity to take part is so beneficial to mental health and wellbeing. The group requested funding to support the group in hosting taster and awareness sessions to encourage more members of the community in their activities.

It was an inspiring afternoon and we look forward to our ongoing partnership!
