Ward’s highly trained specialist search dog service provides an extra level of security for your premises. Our search dog section team is trained to search out explosives and narcotics in a range of scenarios. The team is led by a retired Metropolitan Police Dog Training School senior instructor, and all dogs are trained to the same exacting standards.
Teams from the Metropolitan Police regularly use our narcotic search dogs with great success to assist them on Automatic Number Plate Recognition operations. These in turn often lead to our involvement in Section 18 property searches. Search Dogs also assist the police as they have excellent scenting capabilities and physical stamina, and a high degree of intelligence.
All our handlers are employed by us, and we also own the majority of our dogs, all of which are transported in specially liveried, secure and equipped company vehicles.
Mobility and the ability to conduct a task in any environment is where dogs come into their own. From searching people entering large venues to carrying out searches on vehicles and property, our dogs can be deployed across a wide range of sites.
Many of our units carry both a general-purpose patrol dog and a search dog, providing greater flexibility and lower costs. For example, 24-hour protection from a patrol dog team for high profile perimeter patrols, and an explosive search dog team deployed to carry out full searches of any vehicles arriving on site.
