Forever Manchester fund various projects across Greater Manchester

Ward continue to partner closely with charity, Forever Manchester, the only charity that raises money to fund and support community activity across Greater Manchester.

Read more below about some of the recent projects Forever Manchester has funded through the support of their corporate partners.

Cruse Bereavement Support, based in Altrincham, offers free help and advice to anyone living within the Greater Manchester area struggling to deal with grief and loss. They have 68 volunteers and 38 specialist trained Bereavement Counsellors who offer one-to-one support, group support sessions, face-to-face, online and by phone. The group requested funding to cover 20 hours of clinical supervisions for the group’s bereavement volunteers.

South Manchester Down’s Syndrome Group is a parent led charity attracting users from Greater Manchester to help provide support for children with Down’s and their siblings and wider family. As part of their activities they run sing and sign, sign language classes and a free monthly family event called “Chatterbox”. They requested funding to hire facilitators, refreshments and rent space in a specialist school.

The Eagles Wing group is a support group for local people, asylum seekers and refugees in Bury. They offer friendship and support to anyone who comes to the group. They offer regular weekly support and social groups, English language classes and leisure/craft sessions and help signpost people for further help. They requested funding to cover costs for their weekly art and crafts class.

Early Essentials Stockport aim to support new mothers and babies by providing a hamper of essential items. Through their service work & with referrals from midwives, health visitors and schools, they are able to identify and help some of the most vulnerable people in the community. They requested funding to enable them to purchase 35 baskets and mattresses for new born babies.
