Ward receives Environmental Stewardship award at VINCI Supply Chain Award Ceremony 2022

On Thursday 15 September, VINCI hosted its annual Supply Chain Conference alongside its Award Ceremony, where Ward received the Environmental Stewardship Award.

The award ceremony is a chance for VINCI to celebrate its suppliers and their achievements over the last 12 months. The Environmental Stewardship category recognises suppliers who have worked to reduce their own, or their supply chains, environmental impact or created an environmental enhancement.

Sustainability and Community Engagement is a key focus for Ward and we’re so proud to be recognised by VINCI for this. A few initiatives that Ward are already involved in include:

• Becoming a certified Carbon Neutral business, supporting their commitment to a sustainable future
• Delivering social value through several community-based projects including Dandelion Time, Forever Manchester, Young Hackney and Living River Foundation
• Tailoring their solutions to better benefit communities in a number of ways. For example, many recent projects have involved implementing Mesh fencing which has completely changed the way that sites look, without any compromise on how secure they are.

Charlotte Rogers, Regional Operations Director at Ward, comments, “To be recognised by VINCI for our achievements and initiatives when it comes to sustainability is fantastic. It’s a great reflection of the work we’re doing, as a company, to make a difference to the communities in which we work. Sustainability is so important for us at Ward, and we continue to improve and make a difference where we can”.

Brian Stroud, Director, adds, “We’ve been fortunate enough for our Security services to be recognised by VINCI at this fantastic annual event over the last couple of years, however, we were delighted this year to be awarded, not just for what we do, but for how we do it, which is testament to the focus on a culture of sustainability having been implemented across the business.”
