Ward’s first litter of puppies hit 15 months old

Last year Hetty, our labrador brood bitch, gave birth to our first litter of puppies. The puppies are now 15 months old, so we thought it was time to share an update on how they’re getting on.

Four puppies from the litter were selected to be the future working dogs of Ward. All four are showing excellent potential and are all destined for a role as Explosive Detection dogs. Two of the puppies and their handlers have successfully completed a two-day licensing test and are now accredited Explosive Search Dogs teams.

From the same litter, two puppies were selected as future brood bitches to continue the Ward breeding programme. Not only have both puppies developed into very healthy dogs, the results of their hip and elbow Kennel Club BVA scores were excellent.

A fantastic example of what a combination of a healthy well-bred puppy alongside a structured development program and a dedicated handler can do.
