Team Ward attend Women’s Safety Awareness Event ‘New Year, Same Fear’

Members of Team Ward recently attended the Women’s Safety Awareness Event ‘New Year, Same Fear’, organised by Colmore BID, where masterclass sessions were held focusing on some of the key women’s safety issues.

It’s more important than ever to raise awareness of women’s safety, the UK Police state that every year 2 million women (1 in 2) will be victims of violence against women and girls (VAWG). Research also shows that:

– 30% of the UK’s working population will experience a form of sexual harassment
– 40% of women experience sexual harassment during their career
– 75% of domestic abuse victims are targeted by their abusers in the workplace.

The event was about standing up, speaking up and stamping our VAWG within the Colmore Business District.

We’re proud to support the local community to help raise awareness and better educate ourselves on how we can help make a difference.
