Ward Sustainability in Action:  Update 12/4/21

Forever Manchester, proudly supported by Ward Security, continue to fund projects in the local community. Here is a brief update on current activity:

Willow Project: work primarily with young people (aged 6-19) in and around Wigan, to improve mental health, improve self-esteem and confidence by looking at coping strategies and building resilience

Communic8te Bury: Their aim is to enhance the quality of life, reduce loneliness and isolation, improve life chances and develop independence for people who are deaf or have hearing loss

Finding Rainbows: a bereavement support group within the Manchester and Tameside area. They support families who have sadly suffered the loss of a baby or child and early pregnancy loss.

The Storehouse Project: based in Wigan, provide support and resources for vulnerable and homeless people living in the local and surrounding areas. The group has been funded over the last year mostly for the distribution of food hampers and mentoring costs. As the need for support continues the group requested funding to tackle the issue of sofa surfing and wish to purchase beds, mattresses and canvases to deliver to people who are referred to them.
