Job Purpose
The Regional People Manager is responsible for supporting the Regions on all operational
People/HR related matters. Whilst sitting within the central People function, the Regional
People Manager will support the Regions with the full employee life cycle from on-boarding to
retirement, ensuring that the regional operational managers comply with employment
legislation through adhering to the company’s policies and practices. The role is assisted by
the People Co-ordinator and provides support to the Head of People on People related
projects, as and when required.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Be a People Lead on the Ward Values and Behaviours to champion the people culture in all aspects of performance, behaviour and conduct.
  • Support, advise and coach the regional management teams on the people management aspects of their role for the overall employee life-cycle from on-boarding/integration and to include Probation, Absence Management, Disciplinary, Grievance, and Performance Management.
  • Act as the Regional People lead on a case load of Employee Relations cases, supporting meetings, writing letters and collating reports. Identifying risks to the business and being proactive in providing solutions to manage the company’s exposure to risk.
  • Acting as the People lead in supporting the Regional TUPE activity, managing all people related aspects of TUPE transfers in and out of the business, ensuring the accuracy of data provided for due diligence, engagement and communication activities and that all correspondence is in line with TUPE legislation.
  • Acting as the People lead for Change Management activity across Regional Restructures and Redundancies, providing timely and accurate advice and support to the Business Leaders.
  • To support the People Coordinator and wider People team, providing guidance on issues relating to people related administration such as annual leave, right to work, SIA Licensing and other related statutory regulations and employment legislation as set by UK government.
  • Maintain appropriate management information for measuring and monitoring the necessary aspects of People development and practice in areas of responsibility to provide to the Head of People as and when required.
  • Provide and update on the necessary information for the Company payroll ensuring that deadlines are met and that changes and updates are recorded accurately.
  • Responsible for building and maintaining effective engagement with all stakeholders including regional and operational managers.
  • Keeping up to date with legislative changes and best practice HR and maintaining own CPD. Sharing best practice amongst the People team to develop improved ways of working and support and mentor the People Coordinator.
  • Participate in any People projects/initiatives such as Apprenticeship Development Programmes, Learning and Development activity and Employee Engagement and perform other duties as required to support the business needs and as and when required by the Head of People and People Director.
  • Any other duties that the Company may request from time to time that have not been included in the above.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential:

  • 3 years’ proven experience as a commercial HR/People Manager in similar/same industry
  • CIPD Level 5 qualified or equivalent relevant experience
  • A confident and competent HR/People professional, able to demonstrate extensive technical knowledge and capability within a demanding, fast paced customer focused organisation
  • Able to work collaboratively as part of a professional team
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, able to build effective relationships with diverse business areas
  • Strong organisational, analytical and representational skills
  • Experience of supporting project delivery
  • Ability to move at pace in a 24/7 business and be flexible to customers needs
  • Customer-oriented to be able to understand customer’s needs and tailor people solutions to deliver service
  • Evidence of continuing professional development – Desirable
  • Advance Microsoft Office, e.g.; Excel, Access, Word and Outlook experience
