Location:  Manchester

Primary Objectives:

1. Drive new business growth in Manchester and supporting Birmingham

2. Develop pipeline to support sales target

3. Produce Opportunity specific proposals/presentations in conjunction with the Commercial Team

4. Work with the Marketing Manager to support marketing campaigns relevant to BDM region

5. Work closely with the Senior Operations team stakeholders

Reporting directly to the Chief Commercial Officer, the Business Development Manager will source new customers and sites for Ward. Other responsibilities as follows:

  • Diversify and create opportunities with new customers
  • Will have responsibility for the bid, pricing, presentation, contract sign off process
  • Attend industry and related events to ensure up to date knowledge, legislation and best practice
  • Attend networking events for opportunities/networking
  • Develop their own CPD to enhance knowledge expertise
  • Work closely with internal key stakeholders to monitor the effective mobilisation and support the contract for first 12 weeks
  • Adhere to the Commercial Workgroup Governance model
  • Ensure Pipeline Opportunities are logged in a CRM (Salesforce)
  • Monthly Management Information and KPI reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer
  • Attend and provide updates at Operations & Commercial meetings
  • Prospect and relationship development of opportunities
  • Target new opportunities across the geographic region of Manchester and Birmingham
  • Attend client Presentations
  • Cross-selling on technical solutions  and lead generation into Ward Intelligent Solutions
  • Forecasting on revenue generation
  • The ability to support our growth strategy in line with the business plan

Experience:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in BD of Security Guarding/Tech solutions in Manchester and/or the North West
  • Proven track record of £2m+ new business year on year
  • Ability to foster strong relationships with core key stakeholders to deliver success
  • Level 5 Security/Risk Management preferred but not essential
  • Ability to compile proposals, presentations and costings
  • Exceptional leadership, management, and communication skills
  • Proven effective in working across organisational boundaries (e.g. Between corporate divisions and/or nationally based divisions)
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Sound commercial acumen and ability to build a compelling business case
  • Persuasion, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Dynamic, assertive and resilient
  • Work to agreed goals and objectives
  • Time-management with high organisational and planning skills
  • Presentation skills
  • Proposal writing support
