Paul Harvey who is an Executive Director at national security provider Ward Security has been admitted to the Register of Chartered Security Professionals, the gold standard of competence in security.

The Register of Chartered Security Professionals (CSyP) is a professional certification in security which was launched in 2011 under a Royal Charter issued to the Worshipful Company of Security Professionals.   Registrants use CSyP as a post nominal and called Chartered Professionals.  CSyP is also recognised by CPNI.

Successful applicants have to pass a rigorous selection process which includes having their application form peer reviewed, a panel interview as well as showing they meet high standards in five key security disciplines which are Knowledge, Leadership, Practical Skills, Communication and Professional Commitment.

All Chartered Professionals must comply with a code of conduct, a professional disciplinary code and also complete continuous professional development annually.

Harvey’s experience in the security industry spans a successful career of over 25 years. He has held senior positions in publicly listed, private equity and privately owned businesses before joining the board of Ward Security in 2020.   He said “Becoming a CSyP is a means of being recognised globally as upholding the highest standards in security and risk management.  It also commits you to continuing to represent these standards year upon year through CPD as well as your actions.   I am passionate about the professionalisation of the security sector and a firm believer that our industry needs to validate the people who work within it.  Committing to CSyP further demonstrates my commitment to this.”
