Ward Security is providing overnight security to Rochester Cathedral while it temporarily hosts The Knife Angel monument.  This huge 27ft sculpture is made from 100,000 seized and confiscated knives and is touring the country to highlight the UK’s knife crime epidemic.

The national security company, whose administration offices are based at the Historic Dockyard in Chatham has stationed a specialist dog handling patrol team at the Cathedral to ensure the monument is completely protected while it is in situ.

David Ward, CEO of Ward Security said “Our team is proud to help secure The Knife Angel at the Cathedral. Knife crime is a serious issue and sadly one we are all affected by no matter where we live or work.  The Monument is a poignant reminder for us all to consider how we can address knife issues, educate people to stop carrying and using knives and actively work together within our local communities to help improve the situation”

The Knife Angel is on display now until the 29th of September at Rochester Cathedral.
