What is the role?

Site Security Supervisor – Frontline SIA License required – no applications will be considered unless you hold a valid SIA Licence and CCTV Licence; All roles are subject vetting to a 5-year checkable history to include Supervisory experience.

  • Able to read and write coherent sentences to construct a legible report.
  • Good interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate clearly with people at all levels projecting a confident and professional manner.
  • Experience within a similar position is preferred
  • To be able to observe and accurately record incidents as they occur.
  • Be able to prioritise workloads and be flexible in the approach to varied tasks
  • Follow, review and lead compliance on Ward Security Limited Compliance Procedures for all Company Operating Procedures.  Directly manage the supervision of security personnel, ensuring that the Companies obligations are adhered to at all times in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure that all relevant information is collated and recorded for future reference.
  • Liaise with all Security Officers ensuring that all information is made available in order for the operation of the Company to work in an effective manner.
  • Ensure that staff and clients of the Company assist the Health & Safety Officer to ensure compliance with policies and regulations adhere to Health & Safety policies and regulations.
  • Participate in and ensure the continuation of specialist training to key members of staff within the remit of your authority.
  • To provide regular foot patrols within defined areas as an effective deterrent in the protection of the client’s property and assets.
  • To effectively control the access to the client’s premises, examining documentation to ascertain the authenticity and authority to gain access.
  • To submit detailed reports on discovery of issues relating to health and safety and crime to the relevant authority either verbally or in report form as required.
  • In line with Company policy carry out routine search procedures in sensitive manner to include vehicles, buildings and persons. –
  • To effectively deal with all incidents falling within the security remit and to effectively report all incidents to the relevant authority.
  • To provide a point of contact and information centre to staff and visitors.
  • To maintain a log of all visitors, incidents and any other records that may be required by the client.
  • To maintain the clients key safe to issue and record all movements of keys within the clients’ premises.
  • To identify suspicious persons and actions and report such circumstances.
  • Any other duties that the Company may request from time to time that have not been included in the above.
  • To monitor the access and egress for staff, guests & contractors on site
  • Assistance with all operational incidents/emergencies during shift, ensuring appropriate and professional management and reporting/escalation of issues acting as a central communication hub for security services
  • Providing immediate response in the event of any major / minor incidents, ranging from responding to medical incidents, fire alarm activation / evacuations and crisis response ensuring that CCTV watch is a priority. Reviewing the incident reports prior to submitting to the client and coordinating the preliminary investigations.
  • Complete Monthly CSR’s along with job chats and appraisals providing leadership, support, guidance to FOH Security Officers. Monitoring employee productivity and providing constructive feedback and coaching.
  • Deliveries/Contractors – Should be organised and take control of incoming deliveries and contractor issues in the absence of senior team members.
  • Report Writing – Security Supervisor should have exceptional reading and writing skills and be proficient in using both MS office as well as in house software. Being clear & concise in this role is vital.
  • Communication Skills – Must have communication skills to deal with people in any given situation. Be able to assimilate and pass on key information where required.
  • Customer Service – To meet & greet people coming to site including high profile visitors. Great inter-personal skills as first point of contact & usually the face of the business.
  • Work Ethic – In this role, time keeping of the highest standard is crucial. Working to the best of your ability at all times as an individual and within a team is a key aspect of this role and something expected from all staff at Ward Security.
  • Leadership Skills – Be able to help maintain and develop skills in themselves and their teammates as well as setting a good example. This includes being pro-active with alerts and news about local issues which may affect the security of the business.
  • Decision Making – Must display the ability to make decisions using the training and guidance provided and sometimes operate within limited time frame.
  • Teamwork – Must be able to operate in a team and be motivated to keep improving themselves and also give positive input in order to improve processes in relation to their role.
