What is the role?

The Site Security Managers role will be to carry out daily tasks specifically set out by the shift supervisor. The Site Manager should always be aware of the ever changing security environment and should take steps to make themselves coherent with new/updated procedures and processes.

  • The purpose of this job is to protect the clients’ business interests by the provision of a security presence, including your role and your team’s, as a collective you must address issues dealing with fire, damage, theft and health and safety issues.
  • To provide regular foot patrols, as required, within defined areas as an effective deterrent in the protection of the client’s property and assets.
  • To identify suspicious persons and actions and escalate and report, such circumstances in accordance with site and company procedures.
  • Be the first port of call for all security issues and staff issues on site, and escalate as necessary.
  • To maintain the key safe on site, and the process of issuing and maintaining records of all movements of keys within the clients premises.
  • To provide a point of contact and information to staff and visitors to the site.

Job Responsibilities and Tasks:

To follow and adhere to Ward Security Limited Compliance Procedures and Company Operating Procedures.

  • To ensure that all duties are carried out by you and your team in accordance with the site specific assignment instructions and in accordance with the client’s & Company’s wishes.
  • To provide regular foot patrols within defined areas as an effective deterrent in the protection of the client’s property and assets.
  • To effectively control the access to the client’s premises, examining documentation to ascertain the authenticity and authority to gain access.
  • To provide monitoring functions to CCTV and alarm functions, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed. To be aware of the operation of those functions and to respond as required.
  • When required to assist and escort visitors to their destinations within the clients complex.
  • To submit detailed reports on discovery of issues relating to health and safety and crime to the relevant authority either verbally or in report form as required.
  • In line with Company policy, carry out routine search procedures in sensitive manner to include vehicles, buildings and persons.
  • To effectively deal with all incidents falling within the security remit. To effectively report  on and escalate all incidents to the relevant authority.
  • To ensure that the building is locked/unlocked in a timely and efficient manner, by you and your team.
  • To provide a point of contact and information centre to staff and visitors.
  • To maintain a log of all visitors, incidents and any other records that may be required by the client.
  • To undertake other related duties as may be required after consultation with the management team in accordance with the specific site requirements.
  • Any other duties that the Company may request from time to time that have not been included in the above.
  • To attain the relevant qualifications to meet the Company requirements under the health and safety regulations, i.e. First Aid, Fire Warden etc. (As required)Any other duties that the Company may request from time to time that have not been included in the above.

What experience, skills and experience do I need?

  • Previous experience within a Managerial or Supervisory role is preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to clearly communicate and interact with people of all levels; including staff, management, clients and tenants.
  • Effective written communication skills, to be able to read and write coherent sentences, so that constructive, concise, accurate and legible reports can be produced.
  • To be able to communicate confidently and professionally.
  • A 5-year checkable work history or back to school record.
  • To be able to observe and accurately record incidents as they occur.
  • Able to prioritise workloads and be flexible in the approach to varied tasks.
  • Frontline SIA License
