Join our Team – Relief Receptionist covering various site in our London Region- City.

We are currently seeking a competent, professional, flexible Relief Security Receptionist to cover a shifts in the City area of London (minimum of 20 hours per week. However, covering more hours may be more than likely).

What is the role?

Your main duties will be to meet and greet all visitors and to provide a 5 star customer service experience whilst maintaining the professional image & reputation of the company.

Job Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • To be flexible and available when called upon, if operational needs require so this will be at short notice, you will work on various sites as and when required.
  • Meet & greet and deal with all clients, suppliers and internal staff courteously and efficiently.
  • Ensure reception desk, waiting area, client lounge and conference rooms are always clean, tidy, fully equipped and ready for use.
  • Report faults and repairs for timely remedial action.
  • Liaise with catering, maintenance, security, technical/room bookings department and cleaning to ensure the overall service is timely and seamless.
  • Answer telephone calls within 3 rings, scan, print, and deliver messages and faxes to meetings as required.
  • Ensure personal presentation and grooming is of a high standard. Ensure your uniform is regularly cleaned and pressed.
  • Ensure that visitors and contractors passes are issued and all details are logged on the relevant sheets. Endeavour to retrieve passes when the visitors/contractors leave the premises.
  • Be aware of all Front of House service standards and work as a team to ensure they are met and exceeded.
  • Develop self and others – seek out new learning opportunities and raise the standard of business performance.
  • Perform other reasonable tasks and duties requested by line management.
  • Ensure Health & Safety and Evacuation procedures are adhered to and attend Fire Warden Training.
  • May be required to perform administrative duties.


Any other duties that the Company may request from time to time that have not been included in the above.

What is the main purpose of the role?

  • Directly manage the supervision of personnel, ensuring that the Company’s obligations are adhered to at all times in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure all personnel on site under your remit, are rostered appropriately to ensure that the contractual obligations are met.
  • Be the first port of call for all security issues and staff issues on site, and escalate as necessary.
  • Ensure that all relevant information is collated and recorded for future reference.
  • Liaise with all security officers ensuring that all information is made available in order for the operation of the Company to work in an effective manner.
  • Provide documentation and reports in support of the day-to-day operational activities.
  • Respond and take action in event of evacuations and emergencies ensuring that your team take appropriate action.
  • Ensure that staff and clients of the Company assist the Compliance Director to ensure agreement with policies and regulations adhere to Health & Safety policies and regulations.
  • Participate in, and ensure the continuation of specialist training to key members of staff within the remit of your authority.
  • Ensure that all members of your team work in an appropriate and effective manner, whilst giving further training in specific areas where required.
  • Complete performance appraisals when necessary, and liaise directly with Regional Operations Manager to ensure that in periods of sickness and absence, that the site remains fully manned at all times.

What experience, skills and attributes do I need?

  • Able to construct a legible report.
  • Good interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate clearly with people at all levels projecting a confident and professional manner.
  • Experience within a similar position is preferred
  • A 5-year checkable work history to include Supervisory employment.
  • To be able to observe and accurately record incidents as they occur.
  • Be able to prioritise workloads and be flexible in the approach to varied tasks.
  • Physically fit for the environment of the workplace.
  • To be of smart appearance at all times whilst representing the company image.
  • To be punctual in attendance.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision.
