We are currently recruiting a Payroll Officer who will need all of these qualities and more to really advance in this role and make it their own, while ensuring all business needs are met.

What is the role?

The Payroll Officer is responsible  for  the  accurate  and  timely  processing  of  the  payroll function.

Job Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Processing payroll
  • Support to   the   Regional   Operational   teams/managers   to   ensure   all   payroll transactions   are   recorded accurately on management   information   systems   for smooth payroll processing.
  • To escalate any non-compliance of the Company Operating Procedure in respect of payroll processing to the Line Manager, identifying the non-adherence and provide recommendations.
  • To undertake checks and  balances  prior  to  any  payroll  transmissions  which  would incur additional support, resource or costs.
  • Inputting starters and leavers and processing necessary paperwork for payroll
  • The input of pay amendments prior to the running of the payroll
  • Preparation of payroll journals.
  • Provide information to produce KPI’s on a monthly basis.
  • Checking of Timegate system reports to ensure all data is entered correctly.

Any other duties that the Company may request from time to time that have not been included in the above.

What experience, skills and experience do I need?

  • CIPP qualification at intermediate level would be desirable
  •  Established and proven experience within a payroll function in a mid to large size organisation
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Package, high knowledge of excel manipulation of data desirable
  • Working knowledge of IRIS Payroll (previously known as STAR) preferable
