What is the role?

Mobile Response Officer – Frontline SIA required – no applications will be considered unless you hold a valid SIA License.  All roles are subject vetting to a 5 year checkable history.

What is the main purpose of the role?

  • complying with procedures, arrangements and instructions
  • remaining aware that their own acts and omissions can have an impact on the environment and taking all reasonable measures to prevent or minimise any such impact
  • promoting and maintaining high standards of housekeeping
  • To respond to alarm activations as instructed by the Contact Centre, in order to protect the clients’ business and personal interests by the provision of an Alarm Activation Response Service.
  • To address, and where possible, resolve any issues arising from the activation of the clients’ premises alarm or personal attack monitor, by detailing reasons for the activation and potential rectifications on the Alarm Activation Report.
  • If instructed by the Contact Centre to provide emergency support to static officers on site when major issues arise during the execution of their duties that may prove to be of physical detriment to their person.
  • To carry out programmed security patrols at predetermined locations, at times allocated to them or as near as is possible depending on response situations.  To notify the Contact Centre of completion of each and every patrol as they are carried out.
  • Where applicable, to deliver or collect, items of uniform, stationary, letters etc to officers/sites with restricted access to Ward Security Limited Head Office due to geographical location, shift patterns etc. Or any other reasonable instruction from the company.
  • To keep the vehicle in good condition inside & out, undertaking inspections as per instructions & cleaning on a weekly basis. To ensure the state of the vehicle reflects well on the company & that it is best advantaged to run effectively both environmentally & mechanically.
  • To carry out programmed welfare visits to predetermined locations as instructed by the Contact Centre.  To complete in full the relevant paperwork for the welfare visit as provided by the Response Administrator.
  • To attend properties upon request of Ward Security Contact Centre, who will have been advised by the Alarm Monitoring Company or the client, at the outset of the intruder/fire alarm activating.
  • To be able to assess the situation upon arrival, for both alarm response and programmed security patrols, and determine whether additional personnel or the emergency services are required to attend.
  • To enter the property in the event of an alarm activation, to disarm the alarm system and ascertain the area(s) in which the alarm system has been breached.
  • Where applicable source the additional information required to gain entry into general prohibited areas for the building users, and/or obtain the services of a noted Key Holder by informing the Contact Centre of required assistance.
  • To fully patrol and explore the activated area, establishing the cause of the alarm activation and where able to, or where is practicable without any detriment to your person, rectify the cause.
  • On both programmed security patrols and alarm response, to fully patrol all areas of the premises to ensure the building is safe and secure.
  • To note any damage caused and log this information, including a breakdown of the event, on the relevant paperwork and also with the Contact Centre so that, where necessary the client can be contacted.
  • Where necessary to await the arrival of a designated repair service and ensure that the temporary repair is of an acceptable standard.
  • To obtain the reset code from the alarm company or the Contact Centre, reset the alarm system and re-arm it prior to leaving and securing the building.
  • To ensure that the key pouches are resealed and that the old seal and new seal number are correctly logged on the Alarm Activation Report.
  • To ensure that the Contact Centre are advised of the alarm activation serial number.
  • To be able to attend a diverse range of sites and be able to assess the situation that has arisen and determine whether additional personnel or the emergency services are required to attend.
  • To complete site visit reports in order to identify security and safety issues as well as accessing the performance and presentation of the static officer and site in general.
