Job Purpose:

The Credit Control Apprentice is primarily responsible for monitoring the ledgers of Ward Security Limited and chasing balances owed. They will also assist with the daily accounting responsibilities in maintaining the accounting ledgers of Ward Security Limited and its Group. The role offers the opportunity to train towards a level 4 Professional Accounting Qualification (18-24 months) whilst gaining relevant experience on the job.

Job Responsibilities and Tasks:

The Credit Control Apprentice is responsible for:

  • Chasing outstanding balances owed to Ward Security Limited
  • Reconciliation of ledgers and production and analysis of client statements
  • Dealing with customer queries as and when they arise
  • Liaising with both the Finance and other departments to ensure the integrity of standing data is maintained.
  • Customer credit checks & ongoing monitoring of new customers
  • Obtaining client PO’s and assigning them to sales invoices
  • General ad hoc queries from clients and colleagues
  • Assisting with tasks involving both the sales and purchase ledger

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Maths & English Level 2 (GCSE grade C or above)
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Package
