We are looking for well presented, conscientious, proactive and  flexible Individuals who can work on their own initiative and be part of a team working as a Security Officer.  The role will require a high level of customer service and communication skills to meet and greet clients and visitors. The successful applicant will liaise with residents and act at a visual deterrent patrolling the site. What is the role?

Control Room Officer – Frontline SIA required – no applications will be considered unless you hold a valid SIA License, CCTV Licence and have access to your own vehicle.  All roles are subject vetting to a 5 year checkable history.

What is the main purpose of the role?

The purpose of this job is to protect the clients’ business interests by the provision of a security presence in addressing issues dealing with fire, damage, theft and health and safety issues.

To follow and adhere to Ward Security Limited Compliance Procedures and Company Operating Procedures.

  • Security Controller will perform their duties as per the Assignment Instructions.
  • The Controller is responsible for all day to day Control Room Operations CCTV monitoring, CCTV investigations, Access Control etc. As well as assisting the Site Manager and Duty Managers.
  • As Security Controllers you shall be properly dressed in a clean, tidy and pressed uniform with clean black polished leather shoes, boots or issued protective boots, dark socks (black or navy blue). As a Professional Corporate Security Controller your appearance is expected to be impeccable.
  • Every operative to have their valid company ID with them and display a valid SIA Licence.
  • To issue and sign out keys & radios on a daily basis. Report to be raised if any key or radio is not returned by the end of the working day. The Security Controller is responsible for auditing all items / equipment on their shift.
  • To record all events in the Assignment Log Book and making sure all entries are numbered consecutively, dated and timed.
  • To fill in all Security Control Room logs themselves i.e. Key Log, Pass logs, visitor logs etc. Third parties will only sign on forms where required to do so.
  • To control and allocate duties in accordance with the assignment instructions, in an appropriate and effective manner.
  • To conduct site checks weekly and provide the findings to the Duty Manager.
  • All associated paperwork to be correctly completed and distributed.
  • Investigate all first stage Fire Alarms without putting yourself or others at risk.
  • Ensure all contractors who come to site have completed all necessary paperwork which has been approved by the client.
  • To be thoroughly familiar with the geography of the designated area/building including physical layout, worker occupation, key personnel, building routines and all security related systems/equipment within the limitations imposed.
  • To be thoroughly familiar with, and to implement in conjunction with the Security Management and as necessary, the emergency procedures for the designated area/building.
  • To be thoroughly familiar with, and comply with, the Client’s Health & Safety policy and to immediately report any hazards or infringements in compliance with laid down instructions.
  • To carry out all duties in a courteous and diplomatic manner, rendering all possible assistance conductive with good security. Remaining alert, polite and tactful under all circumstances.
  • To identify and take immediate remedial action in the event of a public safety hazard.
  • Respond to incidents as coordinated by their Chain of Command. • Adhere to all reasonable instructions by their Chain of Command.
  • To carry out other reasonable duties as requested by the Client’s Facility Management or designate representative.
  • The immediate reporting of grievances and other serious concerns to the Site Manager.
  • Experience working with CCTV & Access Control Systems.
  • Individuals must demonstrate knowledge of the security industry.
