Working For Our Local Communities

Ward Security has always pledged to support and give back to the local communities it operates within.

Each year it’s employees, clients and suppliers get together to take part in a range of challenges to raise funds and awareness for good causes.  Over the years these have included Tough Mudder, the Brighton and London Marathon, Cycling events, Golf Days, Charity Dinners,  Themed office days, Dragon Boat Racing and of course the ever popular office cake sale!  Over the years these activities have raised thousands of pounds for charities.

Ward Security is  particularly sensitive to the needs of homeless people in the UK and each year supports the Medway Foodbank Trust by providing a free security service for the Foodbank’s warehouse and volunteering staff to help in the warehouse on the Medway City Estate.   We committed to patrolling the warehouse perimeter and installed a wireless intruder detection system free of charge.  We also provided a van and driver to collect donated food from local Tesco stores and help the Foodbank cope with the increase in donations in the run up to Christmas.

Improving Community Safety

As well as fundraising Ward Security undertakes regular educational campaigns aimed to improve knowledge about safety in the community.  It is very proud of the following campaigns

  • Walk to School – We run a series of safety campaigns with schools. Our Winter ‘walk to school safely campaign’ is targeted at primary schools in the local communities that we operate within and often delivered in partnership with the local Police.  The talks are given to the whole school about the need to be safe when walking to and from school, Children are also provided with information leaflets and fluorescent ‘glow in the dark’ key rings to place on their school bags to help them be seen on their walks to and from school.
  • Protecting Employees – We also offer all our clients free safety guidance and tips for their employees to remind them about good practice during the darker nights when travelling to and from work.  Our “clocks back” campaign was highly popular when we launched it a few years ago and we also supplied pocket-sized torches as part of this campaign .
