Ward Security Vision statement is:

To demonstrably establish the Ward Security brand as being consistently recognised as synonymous with quality and to evolve as the preferred choice for customers who wish to partner with a premium supplier."

Our Mission Statement, by which we intend to achieve this Vision is:

We realise that our staff are our most valuable asset and that it is the performance of the frontline security officer that makes the Company and its business sustainable.

As well as the officers who are actually employed by us, we consider the families of our officers and offer schemes to assist with nursery care, purchasing a home computer and as mandatory, every officer is entitled to a death in service benefit should the worst case scenario occur whist on operations in our employment to provide the peace of mind that there is provision in place to take care of their family.

We aim to consider the needs and wants of our officers families, and continue to offer bereavement leave at Directors discretion. The importance and value of the death in service benefit that we offer staff is priceless, and provides our staff with the peace of the mind that there is a provision in place to take care of their family.

    Local Community

Ward Security participates in local community projects and work in partnership with other local businesses to achieve our community's overall social and economic position.

A core objective of Ward Security is to work alongside the local community to reduce anti-social behaviour and reduce crimes that are committed in the local and surrounding areas. The presence of our Security Dog Handling teams at Bromley and Bexley, have significantly assisted in reducing the reports of anti-social behaviour and aim to eradicate this behaviour as much as possible. Similarly in the locality of the head office of the Company, a local church has experienced issues with graffiti and smashed windows, and as part of our commitment to assisting the local community, we provide the Church with security patrols to provide an extra sense of security outside of normal office hours. This service is offered free of charge and has resulted in no further attempts to deface the building.

To promote Community Stakeholder Engagement we regularly attend local tenants and local business group meetings, and have provided security speakers at events organised by the North Kent Chamber of Commerce and the Safer Business Partnerships group based in Medway.

    Example Community Projects:

    MEBP:

Medway Education Business Partnership MEBP - is a key partner for the successful engagement of employers to support the new agenda in schools, especially the new Specialised Diplomas. Employer engagement in work-related learning is seen as a key factor to the economic success of Medway in the future. The purpose of the Business Buddies scheme is:

To ensure that school/college staff become more informed about the employers within their local community; gain a better understanding of how companies work, their skill requirements and employment opportunities, and what will be useful qualifications for potential employees. This will enable the teachers to encourage their students to develop the skills and take the qualifications which may lead into work with companies and organisations locally.

To provide opportunities for local business people to influence what is happening in schools within the developing 14-19 agenda, particularly the Diplomas; to enable them to make known their skill requirements and employment opportunities and, by so doing, help to direct teachers and students to better meet their future business needs.

This is a significant local community engagement project, supported by numerous local businesses and Ward Security Limited is currently represented by two senior managers who are engaging with Mid Kent College with different educational objectives than those listed above, but with the common goal of representing Ward Security Limited as a leading reference point on local business and educational partnership issues.

    Work Experience

Ward Security is always prepared to assist local schools when looking for placements for students in Year 11 and Year 12 to provide them with the opportunity to experience working in a real life situation.

Each work experience candidate is provided with a work experience program for their time with us. The work experience program is specifically designed to provide the student with an overview of how the Company operates, giving specific insight into the Security industry. The students time is split with placement in each department of the Company, with each providing various tasks for them to complete. The student will undertake general office based duties, as well as being able to observe what front line employees do in the Manned Security industry.

Each placement starts with a Health & Safety briefing and explanation of the itinery for their time with Ward Security. At the end of each placement, a debrief is arranged to enable Ward Security to provide the student with feedback, and also for the student to provide the Company with feedback and any suggestions for future placements.

    The Environment Policy

Ward Security remains aware of the potential for its activities to impact upon the environment and publishes this policy statement and the accompanying organisation and arrangements in recognition both of this potential and its commitment to take all reasonable measures to minimise the impact of its activities on the environment. The Company recognises and respects compliance with environmental legislation as representing an important step in achieving the commitments made above and looks to promote co-operation and liaison between itself and the various enforcing agencies to achieve this objective. The Company also recognises the importance of an effective management system to facilitate these commitments and to take due account of environmental issues in its management decisions and actions in respect of prevention of pollution. For more details please check the Company policy document.
